Plans Change
Our plans for this week have completely flipped flopped. We had planned to take a slow trip across Kentucky from east to west. Then Saturday our son called that his family were sick and they wanted to get over this before we came. So, we are in Nashville with our daughter now and will go to Kentucky later this week. We will be coming back here on Friday afternoon to go to a program at Goodpasture Christian School. My neice's son will be singing there with Mars Hill Christian School. It will be a good chance to see them.
Today is my birthday and right now we have very few plans. The only plans we have is to visit a friend this afternoon in Lebanon, TN. She ownes Jade Books and my family loves bookstores. I am anxious to visit with her for a while today.
My granddaughter said she would take me to McDonalds for dinner. I do hope it is a little better than McDonalds, but I would accept it and not say anything. It is the thought.
At my age, presents are not a big thing. This trip is present enough. I have enjoyed being with our granddaughter, Savannah, and our daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ron. It is good to be with family.
There is more to life than "getting." We should be more interested in "giving." We need to remember to give of our time to others, help where we can and be able to listen to others. Our time on earth is short, but we should be able to give as much as we can to others. We don't have to have money to give, just our time and the ability to listen and encourage others. My birthday gift to you is the opportunity I have had to give you a little of my time and the prayer that I have encouraged you in some way.
It looks like the snow is gone here and the sun is shinning beautifully. This is going to be a wonderful day, after all God gave it to us.
