My Inspiration

Everyone has someone who inspires them. That person should be someone they admire and look up to. Just about everyone is inspired by the Bible and we all should be. There are many verses to inspire us to live a better life. To me, that is my best inspiration.

To keep from sounding preachy, I would like to introduce you to my inspiration. When I decided to write, one person stands out in my mind, Wilburta Arrowood. Wilburta had written a book "For the Love of a Child" several years ago and I loved the book. It was very inspirational and a book on forgiveness that I needed at that time.

Wilburta was our guest speaker at our Ladies Day last fall at church. She and her husband, Jim, stayed with us. That night, she inspired me and believed in me. She keeps telling me that I can write and be published. Sometimes I doubt her, but mostly I believe her. She is critiquing my manuscript and is very brutal at times. I need the brutality, because I have not been in school for years and years. As I told my children, it was when I lived in a cave. I also say, in the dark ages. Wilburta is teaching me a lot about writing. She sticks with me and is trying to beat me in shape.

People may not understand why I am in such augh of nature and love to see the sunrise and set. Several years ago, I almost died due to a blunder during a surgery. Since then, I have learned to enjoy each day that God gives me. I am so happy that I am still around. I wanted to live to see my last grandchild born. I didn't want him to not know me. He is a light in my life, as are the other grandchildren, he is so different from any grandchild we have ever had, and maybe it's because he is almost 3, but he is so special to me. Now, you know why I enjoy living so much. My life is a gift from God.
