Reflection

Most of the time when we think about reflection, we think about our image in a mirror. There are other things that reflect as well.

What about reflecting on the world about us, our blessings and our families? This is one of the most beautiful times of the year. Each season has it's own benefits, but spring is like a resurrection. My mother-in-law used to tell me, that is what spring meant to her, a resurrection of her soul. Spring does resurrect the dead ground into a newness of life and the seeds that have been dead all winter are resurrected to the beauty of the spring. I like to reflect on the beauty of spring.

We have swings on our front porch and I love to sit and reflect on my life and other things. When I want to think, that is where I go. When I get stuck in my writing, that front porch swing helps me to see a new idea. It is so relaxing. I guess you could say I can swing away my troubles.

Also, I like to reflect on what God has blessed me with. We all have so many blessings. It is hard to number them. We should all be thankful that we live in a beautiful place and we have so many freedoms that others don't have. We can worship God in peace without any harm being done it us for worshiping. We have freedom to come and go as we please. The blessing of our family is one where they can chose their careers and their spouses and they can move from place to place if you want to. We have so much that others don't have. We are also blessed with good jobs to be able to purchase what we want. This is a blessed life. Enjoy it.
