Being a Writer

A friend replied to my last post that she did not know I was a writer. Well, Denise, I am trying to be a writer.

Some of the things being a writer entails. It is hard work, fun, restful, relaxing, fulfilling, time consuming, always on your mind and a lot more I could say. You fell your characters are real people. My main characters in the book I am writing are Paula, Linda, Bobby and Betty. Betty is Paula's mother and the other three are friends. I talk about them like they are real people. Now, that can be a problem. I go to bed thinking what I can get them into and wake up with them on my mind.

Many times I have made this statement. "I am going to publish this book." I am determined to do it. One thing I have found out that it takes to write a book is determination. Why? So few people finish or publish their book. I am not interested in making a lot of money, just a dime or two to help with my Social Security. I know I will not get rich, very few writers do. I am content with that.

This is part of my writing practice. When I publish, I will be an author.
