Things Keep Piling Up
How does it always happen when one thing gets out of sequence at home that everything piles up?
This week has been one of those weeks. It really started last week. I only have one aunt left on either side of my family. She is my dad's sister and lives nearby. She called me from the hospital to tell me she had been taken there with this horrible stomach virus. She came home on Saturday, and needed some things from the grocery store since I was going, so I got her things also.
Sunday I heard the EMS stop close to her house. Thinking something was wrong, I walked down our hill and to her house. It was probably quicker than driving. She was fine, but a house up the road was on fire and they stopped traffic in front of her house. That pretty much took up Sunday afternoon, after visiting with the neighbors who were on the road like I was.
Monday, my husband had a colonoscopy, so that ruined the whole day for me. Our doctor is thirty miles away and his appointment was at six-thirty a.m. Everything is fine with him. He doesn't have to go back for ten years. I wish I was that lucky.
My cousin, who lives in Indiana, was coming down this month, so she came early and stayed with my mother while we went to Kingsport to have the procedure done. She is still visiting which is good because we don't see each other that much.
This is a busy week. We are also having guests for dinner Saturday night. I have not had people in for a while, so I am looking forward to it. We used to do this a lot, but had gotten out of practice. It is good to start it again.
Strawberries are in, so I need to make a Strawberry Pie today and start getting ready for Saturday night. On top of everything else, I am taking a writing class on the internet. My cup is full, but I am enjoying it.
