What Did You Do July 4?
| Yesterday, July 4, I dressed in my flag and fireworks tee shirt and prepared to can green beans. I am a farm girl, in fact I live on the same ground that my family has lived on for five generations. Yes, I did get them canned, but with no children home, we didn't go to the parade or go see the fireworks. Our town, Rogersville, has the best fireworks around and they are big and loud. We went for years, but this year, we decided to stay home. There are so many people there, about 10,000 in a small town with less than 5,000 in population. So, when the size doubles, we stay home. Our granddaughter, who turned eleven yesterday, used to always come to see the fireworks on her birthday. I don't get fireworks on my birthday, so I should feel slighted. What did I do besides can beans? Well, I signed up for Writers Career Coach. I am already excited about it. Yes, I spent the money and I am cheap, but it will pay off in the long run. Tiff sent me the material and I have been looking at it. I also ordered some of the books and I may go to the library later and borrow the rest of them. I did get some used ones that were cheaper. There goes that word again, "cheap." I am looking forward to getting started this afternoon. In fact, I have a lot of homework to do today and tomorrow. Have you written a five year plan? I haven't in a long time. I am very anxious to get started with it. It really makes you think what you want to do in the future. My future for today will be to get the house in shape this morning, so I can work on the computer this afternoon. This evening, I am going to get ready to make curtains for the family room. I have the material, or at least I hope I have enough. I need to check on it and finish toppers for my mother's room. When I finish the family room, I will have all new curtains in my house. How great! |
