It"s Been a Long Time
So many things have happened since my last post. I'm sorry it has been so long, but I think you will understand.
On October 19, my mother fell and broke her hip. At 90 years of age, that was pretty serious. It does get worse. When the hospital did a chest x-ray, they found she had pneumonia. The doctor told me it was my decision, but it had to be done. She was operated on that night and was in the hospital for eleven days.
There were so many ups and downs during her stay in the hospital. We were fortunate to have Hospice help us with her stay at home. She continued to grow weaker and passed away on November 14.
My husband had taken a leave of absence from work and was home to help me. We were so exhausted after the funeral. We left on Sunday after church and had a week of rest. We stayed on Tybee Island, GA for three days and thoroughly enjoyed the beach and going into Savannah to Lady and Sons and the Pirate's House. Both were good eating, as we say in East Tennessee.
It is good to be back home after spending Thanksgiving with our children. Now, we are doing all the things that have to be done. My writing has taken a back seat for several weeks, but I am anxious to get back to it and finish my book.
