Books to Read
For the past week I have been reading some very good books. When I am at Wal-Mart or a book store, I look for my favorite authors and usually grab a book that I have not read yet.
Recently, I was in Wal-Mart and found Christine Lynxwiller's Forever Christmas. Since I have read most of Christine's books, this was one that I had not seen yet. I knew it was out, but had not run across it yet. This is by far the best book yet by Christine. I didn't want it to end. In fact, when I only had one chapter to read, I closed it and waited until I had a very quiet moment to finish it. I loved the ending. Maybe, I just like happy endings.
As I said before I like happy endings. I also like suspense. I can find this is most of Barbour Publishing books. They are clean, decent books. No graphic language or scenes. Most of them are chic lit, but some are about cowboys and the old west. There are a few other publishing companies that I look at, but I love Barbour the best. I think I am the only person in my small town that looks at the publisher before they look at the book.
Some of my other favorite authors are M.L. Tyndall. I never thought I would like pirate stories, but these are so exciting and good. I also like Wanda Brunstetter and her Amish books. Another favorite of mine is Janice A. Thompson. She puts so much humor in her books. Another humorous author is Mary Connealy. Now if you want a romantic book, try Yvonne Lehman. Of course, all the others are romantic also, but Yvonne's are curl-up-by-a-fire kind with a cup of hot chocolate.
How do these books influence me in my writing? One think I know, I am not close to any of these yet, but as I write and read, I am getting a little closer. Who do I want to pattern my books after? Me! My books will be my own style of writing, but I hope a good style of writing.
After all that has happened to me in the past two months, I am now ready to write. In fact, I have already gotten back to it some. Now,my fun begins.
