Conferences

One way to help your writing career is to attend conferences. I do not care to travel by myself, I had to do that for too many years when I was working. So, when one of my critique partners told me she and a friend were driving to the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference in Asheville, NC, I talked to my husband and we decided it would be good if I go with them.

In preparation to registering, I looked at the teachers of the workshops and also the people who would be there, publishers, editors, etc. When I saw people I wanted to meet and talk to, I became so excited. A couple of people teaching have taught online classes that I have taken, so I am looking forward to meeting them face to face.

This is my first conference to attend, but from what people have said, any conference is a good place to talk to publishers and editors. To me, it shows that I am a serious writer. This may be the only one I attend this year, but I am going to do my best to enjoy it and soak up the knowledge of other people.
