Make the most of Your Classes

We are never too old to learn anything. You can teach and old dog new tricks. Where do you go to learn more?

My best classes have been from the American Christian Fiction Writers classes. If you are a member of ACFW, the classes are free and there is one each month. I can't think of any that I have been in that the lecturer used foul language. These classes cover a lot of things from writing to research to publishing your novel. What I like best is that they are free. Okay, I'm cheap.

There are other classes out on the internet that you pay for. I have had some really good ones and some really bad ones. There were even some good points in the bad ones.

You can also read books. I especially like the books of instruction written by James Scott Bell. I feel like he is talking to me personally. Another good author for instructions is Noah Lukeman. There are also e-zines on the internet that are free. If you want any more information, I would be glad to give it you you if you will write me.

It does take time to study. I try to do as much as I can during the class and print out the lessons. I can go back during a free time and read more and study more. I even go over some lectures two or three times to make sure I know what I am trying to do.

Taking classes and studying books will help you on your writing career.
