Along Comes a Cowboy

Yesterday I started Along Came a Cowboy. I had been reading a book that I won't mention and thought I would never finish. Even the ending took forever.

Recently I was involved in a car accident. Since my back is hurting and it is hard for me to sit at the computer and write, I decided to catch up on my reading. I hate to stop in the middle of a book to start another one, but I wish I had. Yesterday I read The End of the book I was reading and I picked up Christine Lynxwiler's Along Came a Cowboy.

I have been a fan of Christine's for a while now, devouring anything she writes. This book proves to be as good, if not better, than the previous ones. Christine is also my sister in Christ, so I feel a special kinship with her. We are both members of the church of Christ, only she lives in Arkansas and I live in Tennessee.

I started reading this book amid a lot of pain in my knees and back. I knew anything she wrote would relax me and boy howdy did it! I became excited when I looked at the cover. Anybody who can put a hunk like that cowboy on the cover, has to be a courageous woman. If nothing else, the cover is good. Forget about the book, buy the cover.

Now for the inside. I started chuckling in the first chapter and I am still chuckling. Safety helmets for bull riders? Can you imagine that? I was reading the funny parts to my husband as he watched the ballgame and he even chuckled. Ballgames, even the re-runs, takes presidence for him.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh. Chris, you've done it again. I've waited how long, a year, to read this.

Chris does a wonderful job of writing in the first person point of view. I feel like I am Rachel doing everything she does. and feeling, smelling everything she does. I am really enjoying this book and I know the remainder of it will not disappoint me. Good job Christine!
