Happy Valentine"s Day February 14, 2007

Here is hoping everyone has a fantastic Valentine's Day. Personally, I think we should practice Valentine's Day everyday, not with presents and cards, but just showing someone how much we care about them. This is Senior Night at Burger King, so I guess we will eat out. At least I don't have to cook or wash dishes. Seriously we will have a nice dinner later. My husband and I will be going on a little trip to see our children and grandchildren next week. Since my birthday and anniversary are both next week, I am sure we will eat someplace. Our favorite is Red Lobster. My best gift will be to play with my grandchildren. They are growing too fast. I hope your sweetie is good for you today and I hope you get candy, flowers, dinner and a beautiful card.

Rainy Day, February 13, 2007

Today is a beautiful rainly day. A friend of mine called rainy days, "liquid sunshine." I tend to agree with her, it all depends on how you look at it. Our attitude has a lot to do with our daily lives.

I love to write when it rains. I sit where I can see the mountains and watch the rain and the mist on the mountains. It inspires me so. Guess you know what I am going to be doing today.

Several years ago, I became a lover of thunderstorms. There have been two times I have been awed by a thunderstorm. The first was on top of the Smoky Mountains with a thunderstorm below in the lower part of the mountain. To watch from the top of the storm was beautiful. The next time was in Dallas, Texas as my plane left in a horrible thunderstorm. The pilot went up very fast and as we assended, I looked out the window at the lightening flash through the clouds. It was beautiful and I learned to enjoy everything in life.

My wonderful husband brought me a Valentine's present as he came home from work this morning. It was a can opener. He is a very practical man and I love him dearly. Seriously, I had wanted this can opener since Christmas, so I am pleased to have it. The bad part is I will now have to cook so I can see how it works.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Think what you can do for that special someone. Do you really appreciate him? I do mine. He has been a wonderful husband for almost 44 years. He has sat in the hospital waiting room as I had two emergency surgeries and sat while I was in ICU and visited me daily for almost seven weeks while I was recovering and having treatments. He is special and he wants what is best for me also. He has pushed me with therapy so I could walk and take care of myself. Although I hated his pushing then, I appreciate it now.

Everyone have a wonderful day. Enjoy each of God's wonderful gifts.

My First Blog Day

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to my first blog. Since I am new at this, it may take a while for me to get into the swing of things. There are probably a lot of things that I will do wrong until I get used to this. My life is not very exciting most of the time, but then we do have our exciting times. At this moment my mother is in the nursing home recovering from a fall and I try to visit her as much as possible. Since I have been recovering from my own grief, I forgot about those wonderful people in the nursing home and how they cheer my life. God has been so good to me and just to say a "Hello" to them makes them happy. Several have won my heart and I love them dearly. Some of you know I am writing a book in hopes to publish it. I wish I could write all the time, but there are other things to do in a household. I don't know why my family thinks they need clean clothes, food and the bills paid. That interrupts my writing so much. I have failed FlyLady completely. If you got a grade, mine would be a -0. If you would ask me why I write, I would say for relaxation. I get completely lost in my characters. Right now I am afraid I am going too fast with the book and I will end it before I want to. I am trying to go slow and then I wonder if I have gone too slow. I am sure a publisher will tell me. This is a day to pay bills, do laundry and go to the nursing home, so I am going to get on my way. I think the dryer is off, so it is time to put the load I just washed in the dryer and get another one going in the washer. Our modern conveniences are wonderful and I love all the great appliances, but you still have to put "stuff" in to make them work. Oh, well, as Scarlette said, "Tomorrow is another day." (said in my best Southern accent.)
