Writing More

Yes, I am writing more, and enjoying it more. Things have been hectic here, so I have not been writing as much as I should have on the blog.

My manuscript is coming along very well. I have another chapter to critique while working on the next chapter. This month I am taking a workshop on Romantic Suspense. There is so much to learn. This is really exciting because I have a habit of bringing my romance in too early.

This class also involves mystery and suspense. My heart has never been in the gruesome blood and guts of mystery, but I may just have to change my mind. It is interesting with books out there as to how to murder someone in different areas and vehicles. I had always thought myself to be someone simpler and I feel I have a simple lifestyle. We will see where this turns to.

Lately, it has not been simple. My oldest granddaughter, Savannah, has stayed a week with us. She will be eleven on July 4th, our Firecracker. We played so many games, Bunco, Battleship, Bingo and Snakes and Ladders. Before she left last week, she said, "Grandma, you don't play many games, do you? I guess Granddaddy stays in the basement too much." By the time she left, I was all played out. I had not played so many games in a long time.

When our children were small and then on until adults, we played a lot of games. The ones Savannah and I played are just a few of the many we have. I guess I will have to get the rest of them out and dust them off, since we have three more grandchildren that will want to play them as they get older.
