Fall is in the Air

Fall is definitely in the air in East Tennessee. We have had a few cool days and several cool nights. They do predict temperatures in the 90's this week-end, so the air conditioner is still on.

What is your favorite season? I love fall because of the crispness in the air. I love the azure blue of the sky and the oranges, yellows and reds in the leaves. There is a row of dogwoods that I can see from my kitchen window, and they are already turning a deep red. We've had such a dry summer, that I'm afraid the leaves will fall off quickly.

When I was elementary school, there were big trees in the school yard. We were allowed to play in the leaves at recess and lunch. We would brush away the leaves to make a house outline and scoop them all up and jump in them. It was so much fun. Those are days I cherish.

The temperature should start dropping soon, and then the leaves will start turning more. When we drink coffee from our front porch, we will be able to watch the serenade of the leaves. God is so good to us to give us such a beautiful place to live.
