I Am Serious
Since I began writing, I have played around with it. I thought I was doing well to write a little each day or so, or maybe once a week. Since I began taking a class in Defeating Self-Defeating Behavior, I knew I had been playing along.
Seriousness now takes a front seat. There are several things I have changed to help me on my journey.
We moved my computer into a bedroom where I can shut the door, if I want to, and work as long as I want to. I am away from TV and family. It is great. All of my writing books are at arm's length. I am getting so much more accomplished.
I am also making lists. I have always been a list maker, but not serious about doing everything on the list. Now, I want to finish it all! Almost every day, I can say that I worked the list and I'm ready for another one tomorrow.
Writing is a business. I had never kept business hours until now. Now, I find I can write for thirty minutes, get up, do something around the house and then sit down for another thirty minutes. It works! My life is more peaceful also.
My thirty minutes are up, so I must tackle the dishes. Have a wonderful day!
