More on Contests

Every writer should enter a contest. It takes a lot of courage to do that. You don't want anyone to call your baby ugly. A contest is meant to encourage and help you on your writing career.

I did enter the Genesis Contest with ACFW. I did not final, my marks were a little above average. The comments from the judges were very honest and encouraged me to write better. All of the judges were very kind and one even was anxious to read my work when it is finished. That judge also gave me the lowest score. The comments were constructive and now I have gone over my chapters and they are better than they ever.

No one writes just to have something to do. Most write with the anticipation of selling their work. That is what I am doing and I have good people who critique my work.

My greatest desire is to sell my book and I am working to have a contract by the end of the year. Some people will tell me that's every ones dream, but I am determined to do the best I can to get it done.
