Happy Lobor Day

Labor Day always means that fall is just around the corner. Fall is probably my favorite season. I love the color of the leaves and watching them turn. The dogwoods behind our house are already showing signs of turning red. That is usually the first tree to turn and they are so beautiful.

Summer has been a busy time for me and a lot has happened. We have had a garden and I am still preserving food from it. I need to dry tomato slices today. They should be good to use this winter.

My book is coming along nicely, but slowly because of the garden. I have started a process of having it edited. It takes a lot of time. The editor corrects and makes comments, I correct and send it back, so forth and so on. Right now I have decided to combine the first two chapters so the love interest will be introduced in the first chapter.

Last week I helped one morning with a children's class during Polishing the Pulpit in Sevierville, TN. Polishing the Pulpit has been around for a while, but we had never been able to go. This year, we took one day and attended. I sat in one class after lunch and it was so good. I received some great ideas for a Ladies Class or possibly a book. It was so interesting.

We also saw friends that we had not seen in a while. I loved renewing those friendships. We had time to visit with a friend I had met on the internet. She and her family had dinner with us on Wednesday night. I was truly blessed last week.

Reading has slowed down some this summer. There are several books that I want to read and one I need to finish before October. We will be going on vacation soon, but I don't think I will be reading much. Two close couples of ours are going with us. We have rented a condo and if no hurricanes come up, we will have a great time.

Those in Gustav's way are in my prayers. We have friends who live in that area and we are praying they are safe. It will be a long day today for so many people.

Kathy, good to hear that you had a good summer. We have been traveling since mid-may and will be in Knoxville around 13 Sept. Plan to make a Rogersville trip before returning to FL for the winter. My aunt & uncle, cousin & wife live on Heck Hollow Rd. Maybe I can visit with you sometime. In Love, Pat
